The Parks Foundation of Oak Park is excited to present a new video that we produced in partnership with the Pleasant Home Foundation. It is the first in a series of videos exploring the ways that private giving (financial and volunteer time) provide public benefits enjoyed by all community residents. We were especially interested in demonstrating how private gifts extend the impact of publicly-funded projects associated with the Park District of Oak Park to provide greater benefits and new opportunities for park users.
The second video in our Power of Giving Series features leaders of the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory discussing how volunteers and private contributors saved the conservatory from closing and have ensured its productive future as a treasured community asset.
This first video features Pleasant Home Foundation (PHF) executive director Heidi Ruehle-May discussing private support for the Pleasant Home, a historic property owned by the Park District, but being renovated and operated by PHF.
